The Day Didn’t Go As Planned
Today,
I chose silence over plans.
I stayed in,
closed the door,
And let the world spin without me.
I walked the dog,
picked him up from daycare,
Then let my body do what it needed
rest, breathe,
not perform.
Nigerian movies played in the background,
family voices filled the in-between.
And the weight of yesterday… still lingered.
Yesterday, April 14th,
I held my bunny for the last time.
The vet looked at me softly,
and I knew.
We said goodbye.
Today wasn’t for producing.
It wasn’t for progress.
It was for processing.
For rest. For grief. For being.
Sometimes healing doesn’t look like healing.
It just looks like staying home.
